Just because it gets cold out and the humans don't feel like going outside doesn't mean that the Border Collies don't need the same amount of stimulation and exercise!

With limited availability of agility, flyball, frisbee & herding, Border Collie owners have to become creative in the winter months to keep their companions out of trouble!

Several of our members have taken up Dog Sledding as a way of exercising and keeping their canine athletes in tip top shape.  Border Collies, once they decide not to herd the sled, actually make excellent short distance sled dogs.  The fact that most Border Collies like to race also make them very competitive in dog sled races.

Our Border Collie walks become popular in the winter as a great way of tiring out the dogs as well as the humans.

Other Border Collies can wear themselves out simply by chasing the snow that is being shoveled off of the driveway!

Most appreciate a good game of fetch too!
