I
am sad to report that our Belle passed away suddenly on November 22.
Belle was one of the smartest dogs I have ever known. She enjoyed
participating in club activities and made us very proud as a member of
the 1997 Borders Too K-9 Kup team which placed first in every event and
overall. We have her plaque and ribbons displayed proudly at home.
One of my proudest moments was when we completed the Gamble for the first
time. The other moment that I will always remember was when she was
a puppy and she walked right off a low deck which was bordered by some
plants that had grown to deck level. She had no idea that she was
not walking out onto something solid. After I stopped laughing, I
noticed that she proceeded to jump on and then off the deck about ten times.
While both Belle and Bugs Bunny had not studied the laws of gravity, Belle
set about to teach herself.
